Zain Ahmed Reflects on the Struggles of Scaling Rastah Streetwear and Vows to Improve in 2026

The Pakistani streetwear brand Rastah has experienced remarkable growth over the past six years, capturing the attention of celebrities worldwide and blending traditional Desi craftsmanship with Western aesthetics. However, this success story comes with its own set of challenges, as founder Zain Ahmed revealed in a recent Instagram post.

In a candid reflection, Ahmed described 2025 as a challenging year, admitting that the brand's rapid expansion almost overshadowed its core values. He shared, 'There were moments when we struggled to remember why Rastah even exists.'

Despite the impressive growth, including doubled sales and monthly revenues approaching $1 million in November and June, the team faced significant obstacles. The brand's logistics infrastructure struggled to keep up with the surge in sales, leading to delays and a decline in customer satisfaction. Ahmed acknowledged, 'We didn't deliver the experience our community deserved, and that hurt. We fell short.'

However, this challenging year served as a reminder of the brand's true purpose. Ahmed emphasized, 'It's not the glamour, the headlines, or the celebrities. It's about honest work, real craftsmanship, storytelling, and creating pieces that carry meaning.'

The brand's responsibility, he stated, lies in serving 'the community that believes in us, wears our work, and finds joy in it, even when we make mistakes.'

Looking ahead, Zain Ahmed is determined to make 2026 a year of improvement. He promised to prioritize 'customers and community at the center of everything' and ensure that the brand's upgraded warehousing and supply systems prevent the delivery issues experienced in 2025. With a renewed focus on authenticity and customer satisfaction, Rastah aims to build upon its success and strengthen its position in the fashion industry.
