Google's Gemini AI is now available on Chrome for iPhone and iPad, offering a range of new features. After its initial release on desktop and Android earlier in 2025, users can now access Gemini's capabilities on their iOS devices. With a simple tap on the spark icon, located to the left of the address bar, users can engage in a conversational experience with Gemini. The 'Pages tool' provides access to both the traditional Lens feature and the innovative 'Ask Gemini' option.
The 'Ask Gemini' feature allows users to chat with Gemini about the current web page or any other topic of their choice. Gemini can then provide a variety of responses, such as:
- Summarizing key takeaways from an article
- Explaining complex topics in a different way
- Assisting with knowledge testing on new subjects
- Modifying recipes to meet dietary needs
- Comparing information or making recommendations based on user preferences
These responses will appear as a floating chat window over the web page, which can be moved to the background. Users can start new chats from the top right corner, where they will find the Liquid Glass overflow menu.
It's important to note that Gemini in Chrome on iPhone and iPad is currently only supported in the US with the browser language set to English. Users must be signed into Chrome, and the feature does not work in incognito mode. Additionally, Google has specified that the feature is only available to users aged 18 and older, and its availability may vary across devices.
