A shocking incident has unfolded in Seattle, where a popular Indian restaurant, Kanishka Cuisine of India, is under intense scrutiny after a gastrointestinal illness outbreak affected 35 people. Despite a follow-up visit on December 4, the restaurant failed to rectify these issues, prompting its temporary closure. The establishment is now taking corrective measures, discarding unsafe food and retraining staff on proper food safety protocols.

Laboratory tests on four affected individuals ruled out common gastrointestinal pathogens like norovirus, Salmonella, and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. However, these tests do not detect bacteria that produce toxins, such as Bacillus cereus and Clostridium perfringens, known to cause rapid-onset foodborne illness.
